چکیده

Rate-splitting multiple access (RSMA) is a general scheme for downlink multi-antenna systems embracing both classical spatial division and more recent non-orthogonal access. Finding linear precoding strategy that maximizes the sum spectral efficiency of RSMA challenging yet significant problem. In this paper, we put forth novel precoder design framework jointly finds precoders common private messages RSMA. Our approach first to approximate non-smooth minimum function part in using LogSumExp technique. Then, reformulate maximization problem as form log-sum Rayleigh quotients convert it into tractable form. By interpreting first-order optimality condition reformulated an eigenvector-dependent nonlinear eigenvalue problem, reveal leading eigenvector derived local optimal solution. To find eigenvector, propose algorithm inspired by power iteration. Simulation results show proposed transmission provides improvement compared state-of-the-art methods.

A rate-splitting approach to the Gaussian multiple-access channel

It is shown that any point in the capacity region of a Gaussian multiple-access channel is achievable by single-user coding without requiring synchronization among users, provided that each user “splits” data and signal into two parts. Based on this result, a new multiple-access technique called rate-splitting multiple accessing (RSMA) is proposed. RSMA is a code-division multiple-access scheme...

A Fair Power Allocation for Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access in the Power Domain

This paper presents an investigation on the performance of the Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA) in the power domain scheme. A Power Allocation (PA) method is proposed from NOMA throughput expression analysis. This method aims to provide fair opportunities for users to improve their performance. Thus, NOMA users can achieve rates higher than, or equal to, the rates obtained with the convent...

Rate-splitting multiple access for discrete memoryless channels

It is shown that the encoding/decoding problem for any asynchronous -user discrete memoryless multiple-access channel can be reduced to corresponding problems for at most 2 1 single-user discrete memoryless channels. This result, which extends a similar result for Gaussian channels, reduces the seemingly hard task of finding good multiple-access codes to the much better understood task of findi...

A Rate-Splitting Approach to Fading Multiple-Access Channels with Imperfect Channel-State Information

As shown by Médard, the capacity of fading channels with imperfect channel-state information (CSI) can be lowerbounded by assuming a Gaussian channel input and by treating the unknown portion of the channel multiplied by the channel input as independent worst-case (Gaussian) noise. Recently, we have demonstrated that this lower bound can be sharpened by a rate-splitting approach: by expressing ...

Optimal Downlink Power Allocation and Scheduling for MIMO-Based WiMAX Access Networks

Recently, mobile WiMAX equipped with MIMO technology has attracted much attention and has emerged as a leading solution for broadband wireless access networks. However, study on optimal resource management for such networks is still in its infancy and results in this area remain limited. In this paper, we study the joint optimization of power allocation and scheduling for MIMO-based WiMAX netwo...
